A One Size Wellness Program, Fits None

6/27/2018

Last month, we covered Move the Needle on Employee Engagement. We believe Meliora is moving the needle when it comes to wellness. You can too! The goal is 100% participation, is this a reality? We think through clear-cut components, education, and support, anything is possible. We have your solution.

While we understand getting to 100% participation, there is work to be done. Surprisingly, only about 15% of today’s employers provide employees with custom-made techniques; they not only need but they seek.

Migrating to robust, meaningful and resourceful wellness programs will ensure you deliver to your overall population. The journey to wellness means providing opportunities and adjusting behaviors that will develop and encourage employees to be healthier and prosperous in their daily living at work and home.

At Meliora wants to assist in creating the ‘one size fits none’ programs enveloping the critical wellness factors: mental wellbeing, financial fitness, and physical health. Each movement, however big or small will work towards each employee achieving their wellness goals; whether they want to change all three factors in their life or focus on one at a time. For most people; what motivates them, will move them!

Growth Options Are Essential
Companies and businesses grow in size, so should their wellness initiatives. You focus diligently on hiring the right employees, expand the business, create better internal procedures to ensure smooth operations. The same goes for designing and adapting the right wellness plan that will move with employees as they grow, age, and experience life changes, such as, marriage, divorce, children, aging parents, mental and chronic health issues. It is critical to select benefits and programs to support growth and change within the workforce and internal mechanics.

Put the User First
When you look at the overall wellness ‘big’ picture, it is important to put employees first. You are their compass and are truly navigating them to the programs that ‘fit’ their ‘size’ and will support them on their wellness quest.

Three things are important:
(1) understand their personality and character
(2) create or expand to meet their expectations and challenges
(3) personalize and pinpoint necessary options

How We Make a Difference
Employees are not one-size-fits-all, so you should not be compelled to adopt one wellness program to accommodate all the organizations' unique needs. No worries, we have your solution. At Meliora we strive to create a wellness program to ‘fit’ each employee and design programs for individualized, personal development and advancement. Our options and plans genuinely come in all shapes and sizes.

We work to ensure our partners meet the needs of each employee. We factor in cost per employee, out-of-pocket expenses, and affordable pricing to encourage sustainability within all programs and offerings.
We want to move the needle on employee engagement and ensure our service offers ‘one size fits none’ with our unique whole solution approach.

Let’s get started today and let us show you; size does matter!

Eliminate the Necessary Evil Sigma - Best HR Practices

In every business organization, the human resource department plays a vital role in determining the success and profitability of a company. More than just ensuring that employees strictly observe the company’s dress code, the human resources department brings improvement in the organization by simply recruiting and retaining top-performing employees. The department is also responsible for training and developing potential leaders while making sure that newly hired employees succeed and keep up with the morale of the company as well as the company culture.

Nowadays, numerous business organizations are facing several issues. This includes talent crisis, Talent attrition, and skill shortages to name a few. Many companies feel that these present issues could be best solved by devising the best HR practices.

Flexibility is Key
The days where employees are expected to sit all day in an office desk are outdated. In a recent research conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management, it was revealed that 89 percent of HR professionals who made flexible work arrangements have achieved increased employee retention. The flexibility could include arrangements such as work-from-home, or work on a different schedule to accommodate personal matters. Since the Human Resources department is all about humans, it is important to constantly change for the employees so that they could in return be responsive to the company culture.

Frequent Feedback
One of the most staple HR practices traditionally known to most organizations is the annual performance reviews. However, it appears that these annual evaluations are not anymore the best way to provide feedback to employees. Once a year feedback about the performance and progress of each employee lacks detail and clarity. It is best that they are given frequent feedback to remind them of their roles in tune with the company’s goals.

Talk to them about their position and how they can improve or maintain it. You can ask the managers to sit with their team at least every quarter to discuss performance, results, and objectives. This will not only make the managers get closer to their team but also to make their employees feel more involved with their work.

Training and Career Development
Training and career development is a win-win move for the company. Right now, more and more organizations are investing in training and development. More than 50 percent of HR managers believe that training and career development is important to the business. Employees also find it very important to acquire more skills and growth within an organization. Aside from financial motivators, 76 percent of employees want to have career progression.

HR Automation
Many reputable companies nowadays are embracing Human Resources software. According to The Starr Conspiracy Intelligence Unit, 53 percent of companies with 1,000 employees and above invested in HR automation in 2016. Because of automation in the department, tasks become less painful and less headache-inducing. As a result of automation, human resources has more free time to spend coming up with strategies to improve company’s leadership, recruiting top talents, training employees, and making sure that company culture is observed at all times.
